In the early XIX century the United States began to build small boats rigged as "schooners" obtaining highly maneuverable and elegancecrafts. In what would be the seed of the
subsequent US Coast Guard, they had the mission to enforce the new law on import and customs.

Discover the Bremen, a wooden model kit of this  shing cutter built in a small shipyard in the German coast in 1953. Built of wood and equipped with a diesel engine, this boat  shes near the coast of the North Sea in search of shrimp, a very appreciated crustacean in the northern German cuisine.

Build this traditional Arab dhow of the Arabian Peninsula, India and East Africa coasts. An essential instrument in trade and the spreading of the Islamic faith, the Dhow was used primarily as a cargo vessel, from grain and  sh to slaves or minerals.
This is a wonderful wooden model of a French tuna shing boat. Dedicated to tuna  shing in the months of June to October, this  shing boat came to reach the coast of Mauritania on trips of up to two months as tuna are often far from the coast.
